I'd be like man, do I have to explain Axel? But this game is way different and therefore, Axel must be explained.
He was a solitary child, who often drew and played with legos growing up. Highly intelligent and easily a straight A student, he wasn't without his extreme level of deceit or secretiveness as a teenager. When he was sixteen, he met his first bestfriend Layla Heart, who was like a sister he never had. She was sexually assaulted and he stopped at nothing to ensure she had justice. Later he would go to Harvard then move to Japan in order to begin his career in the video game industry as a art designer and graphic coder, along with many others on the project of Kingdom Heart Online.
He could use friends, if he trusts anyone well enough or wants to get close to anyone as he is used to his solitude. It takes a special person for him to reach out and want to get to know them, give them his time. Allies might be the place to start.
He could also use enemies, seeing as he'll probably get up to some less than savory exploits in the long run. Right now he's trying to get back home and since no one is finding their way back, he'll do anything to get there.
